A good idea, but rather impossible given my busy schedule this semester. Plus, the weather is nasty. I’ll just be careful of the keyboard.

I ate on the porch today. I have to remember, I really DO enjoy eating more when I’m not stuck in front of the computer. I spend enough time here as it is.

A number of times. But I’m back to no eating in front of the computer. None at all. My mistake was allowing snacks. No snacks! Snacking is eating, after all. Beverages are ok. NO CHEWING.

It’s not automatic yet – I still feel tempted to eat my morning oatmeal at my desk. Makes sense – I read the New York Times and a number of webcomics online and it just seems natural to read the paper and funnies over breakfast. I have slipped up a bit, though, on snacks (a VERY few of these) and drinks. Not big snacks, we’re talking a bit of chocolate here or there. Perhaps it would be better, though, if I ate NOTHING in front of my computer. I think I would enjoy the food/treats more.

I got into this bad habit at my last job. I didn’t have a computer at home, and my boss was ok with us using our computers for personal stuff during our breaks. I would usually spend my lunch break catching up on email, reading blogs, etc.
Now I do the same thing, even though I have a computer available to me 24 hours a day. And it’s not good. First, I need more time away from the computer – I already have to spend tons of time here for school. No need to spend every moment of my day in front of the screen. Also – my keyboard is gonna get dirty real quick-like! Yucky. Furthermore, our apartment has a very nice dining room with a real dining table in it. I need to make use of it consistantly. Good for the digestion, good for the eyes. Et cetera.
