How to remodel our Kitchen
How I did it: We worked with an architect who was instrumental in helping us to create what is truely the most useful, aesthetically pleasing kitchen I've ever had the pleasure to work in. It was a remodel so they helped us to conceive of the use of the space in a way we simply could not.
Lessons & tips: Kitchens are very complicated creatures - there's a lot going on in terms of usage in that space. Plan very carefully for the way that use the space.

We’ve been living with a half remodelled home for 4 years now – you know what they say, the carpenters house is never finished -how true! But things are moving ahead again. The wood floor, cabinets and appliances are in, and they just measured for the countertops – so hopefully, by the end of February, everything should be finished in the kitchen.
We live in a townhouse on the beach. Yep, we have a lot of guests. And, we love it. But the house has limited space, so we need to make the most of what we have. I’ve designed a new space that will accomodate a large dining table with a lot of chairs. My husband and brother-in-law can do all the wall removals, installations, wiring changes, etc. Just need to find the $$$. SHOW ME THE MONEY!
We couldn’t afford a full remodel so we opted for the low cost “refacing”
first we used linoleum 12”x12” tiles that look like fieldstone on the floor. It turned out great.
then we replaced all of the cabinet hardware from the cheap black molded stuff to chrome.
Total it cost us about $300 as opposed to the thousands it would have cost and it made a huge difference with our satisfaction level.
