How I did it:
I made sure I met all the requirements for the program. Applied. Was accepted. Completed the training. Picked up the appropriate equipment. And I'm off!
Today was my first official work-from-home day. Everything went pretty well. I kept finding myself distracted, but I'm about 99% sure that's from thinking about my move on Friday and all the things I still have to do before then. Still, I got more done today than I did all of last week. (Not saying much, I didn't get anything
done last week.) So I'm reserving judgment on that front until after I'm completely settled in my new home office in my new-to-me house, and getting back into the swing of things.

Also, my kitchen is currently within eyesight. Not very conducive to working, as food will always be more tempting to me than work. (What can I say? Fatties gonna fat.) As of Friday, I'll have an office dedicated to work, and I'm positive that will help free me from distractions and stay on task. So will not thinking about the 100+ things you have to do before moving.
Picked up all my equipment today; three giant boxes, two smaller ones and a bag full of peripherals. Took a lot of time to get all of that unpacked. All the while knowing that next week I’m just going to have to pack it all up again to move to the new place? Did not make the unpacking adventure any more fun.
You see, I’m moving next Friday. (Yikes! That’s only a week away!) But I “officially,” in the eyes of my employer, begin working from home on Monday. I’ve spent the past three days being trained on setting up and troubleshooting the equipment. The conclusion of that training is a quiz that I have to pass. On Monday. From home.
But I’m all set up and ready to temporarily go!
Definitely need to put “much bigger desk” on the to-get list, though. 5 months ago
I start training next week. As of the 24th, I should be working out of my apartment. Going to be a hectic week, really. Starting the work from home adventure, moving to my new house that week, then restarting the work from home adventure again in the new location. I’m nervous, but an anticipatory kind of nervous. And mildly stressed about it, too. 5 months ago
Got my approval letter today. Not sure I quite understood the process, so I’m going to talk to my boss tomorrow, but approved I am. 6 months ago

Found out I passed the Cert. Exam today!
I now meet all the requirements to be eligible to work from home. Just need to apply, and …you know, have a home to work from. 9 months ago
...does it take this long (three weeks was the estimate I was given) to grade a Scantron? 10 months ago
Certification exam taken. It’ll take about three weeks before I have the results back. Isn’t that ridiculous? Three weeks to grade a Scantron? Anyway, I feel like I did pretty well, which is either a good thing, or an over-confident thing. Guess time will tell. 10 months ago
Taking the proficiency exam at the end of the month. One more step towards working at home. That is, assuming I pass and all. I have every intention of kicking exam ass. 11 months ago
