When I phoned Jobseeker Direct on monday two jobs for the same company (different places) were suggested to me. He offered to send the application form by post. My phone credit ran out before finishing the call, but I still expected to receive them. When I got home, I discovered I have received one of them. It doesn’t tell me where I’m meant to send it! I’ll either mention it when I phone again this week or at my 5 minute appointment at the jobcentre on monday.
On a positive note I received my allowance fine last week and should get the next bit next week.

I’ve considered being a professional blogger, and it is not completely out of mind, but I also know that it is not a short-term solution for my non-employment woes; it would take some time to hone my blogging skills as well as to market my services. In fact, it would just add another long-shot dream with no foundation or funding to my list, right after animal savior, professional musician, and professional poet. So, I’ve decided to, yes, continue to do the things that bring me joy, but be more practical by looking for a full-time job that will finance my efforts, diminish my student loan debts and fund my future home with my future husband.
I filled out a job application through Monster.com, and I think it was a good move. Even if I am not granted an interview, I feel very accomplished having succeeded in this first step.
By the way, I was offered a job to teach at Texas State University, from which I just earned my Master’s degree in Creative Writing/Poetry, but I had to reluctantly turn it down because although my job would have been very emotionally rewarding, it does not justify passing up the wonderful career opportunity Carlos was given in Santa Monica.
I just got an email telling me that I’m ineligible for the job? After they already had me fill out a TON of forms (after the initial application process) AND go out of my way to meet with them, give them my forms, and get fingerprinted????
This is what I get for putting all my eggs in one basket.
I should have known better, after the whole apartment experience.
But I’m still thinking of emailing them back and asking a thing or too…...
I’m soo disappointed.

Sent an email to the woman who interviewed me, thanking her and telling her I’m in the process of getting my driver’s license. That business communication class really paid off.
Now for the hard part, getting my driver’s license. If you know my history with the written part of the test you know it would seem like a blessing if I pass.
But no harm in trying for a fourth time right?

Worth doing!
I am now employed at a digital photo company. YEAHHH!

The interview started out well, we talked about my qualifications (which they say is better than they were looking for)and the duties of the job (which sounded great to me) then around the end of the interview the bomb was dropped and the villagers were left in total carnage.
They asked if I had my license, I said it was only for a motorcycle but I am working on getting my license. The interview went down hill fast from there but I’m hoping a well versed email and getting my license ASAP would boost my chances.
i like the money, but I hope that waitressing isn’t my future… :)

I’m just not in the mood for one yet. I’m getting by okay with my bills and they should be paid off by october hopefully. Christmas might suck this year, I’ll have to control my spending. But as for now… I’m still caring for my grandma, which pays me. Also my mom might be helping me out if need-be. So. For now, i’m just going to enjoy the spare time I have… the very little spare time I have :)

(posting under the influence [of beer])—ok, today I had an interview for an “1€ job”. What’s this? It’s working for almost no payment. Don’t ask me to explain, specially not now. It’s something from the employment office. I don’t even got the job yet, but I think I’ll get it. Next interview is argh, 15., or 19., I honestly am not sure and must call them again tomorrow. ARRRRRGH! How can it be that I forgot the exact date! That’s typical. And I was sober then!
Anyway, the job is daily activities for addict women in an assisted living. (No idea if I got the vocs/terms right.) From what I heard today it’s great. I want to do it. I am really happy. And I am quite sure I’ll get that job. Only little downside is the commute, coz it’s rather far away from where I live. So no good going there by bike. Good thing: if I get the job I’ll get a monthly ticket for the U-Bahn.
That’s all I know at the moment. Am very confident.
