My husband and I are talking and with the crash in housing market would now be the time to by to build later. Well If we do this we want to be free so wind, solar, and a well. I don’t think we would fit into the average Ohio dream house. Anyone else done this?

Serastar is fine-tuning her 43things
...I’m putting this on a long-term hold.
I’ve got this house in Denver, you see. It’s not made of strawbales and there are no chickens. It’s on the grid and has no solar panels to speak of. However, there’s a big bed and a friendly little dog. There’s a back yard with roses and a fire-bowl. It’s going to have to do, for the time being.

It’s the centre for alternative technology, it’s in deepest darkest Mid Wales, it’s fascintaing, totally self sufficent, has the best innovations to be found in alternative power and technologies anywhere in the World, it is very much worth a visit.
I know that Wales is a bit weird with all the bog snorkelling and Rugby, and OK, the penchant for binge drinking, but seriously our hearts are in the right place, I may invite George Bush over just so he can see there is an alternative to global warming…
