I’m running out of coffee at home, and I think I will put off buying more for awhile at least. Today I took a morning walk to one of the many coffee shops in the neighborhood for breakfast. It cost me a bit more money that I would have spent if I had had my coffee at home, but I got out, had a lovely walk and feel good now.

Walking mostly on weekdays. Weekends are my problem. Need to get into a routine.

I take my lamb for walks out to where the other sheep are. Also, we have some sheep that like going over to our neighbours place. To get them back on our side of the fence I have to walk them up to the gate between out properties in the top paddock, open the gate and make sure they go through it. That in itself is roughly a one km walk.

My best friend and I walk dogs three times a week. My dog Lucky. And two other dogs that we borrow from the vet! My dog is too old to go for loooonnng walks now. Lucky and I used to walk a couple of miles every day. But one of the vet’s dogs came up to me and looked at me as if to say “You can walk me!” So that began a way for me to get motivated. I have to drive across town to collect the dogs, then drive back to collect my best friend/roommate.

Walk at least 5 days a week. Weekends can get hetic so some I walk and some I don’t and the distance varies. I need to structure my weekends better. I feel like I am making progress.

I’ve been walking pretty much every day for about a year now, and it does change my outlook on life. The benefits of regular exercise on your mental as well as physical state cannot be over-emphasized. Walk on soldiers!

I’m walking nearly every day around the house paddock and sometimes up to the top paddock when I go around and do my lamb count. It a good motivation – wanting to know how my girls (the ewes) are going with their lambing. 23 live lambs to date.

checking the sheep and lambs, herding the geese down to the dam and then checking on my tree seedlings. I also opened up the gate to the back paddock so the sheep could browse up there through the day. At least it wasn’t as chilly today as the mornings have been. Still only 12 lambs.
