I probably should buy more yarn tonight or tomorrow. I will be working on the blanket more this weekend. Hmm.. I’d say it’s about half way done. It feels like I’ve been working on it forever. It’s getting longer.. but not nearly long enough yet.. needs several more rows still. I stopped from the actual crochet part to sew the straggler yarns into the blanket. That took a while. There will be many more because of how I’m interchanging the yarn colors. But that helped get much of that task out of the way for half of the blanket.
I guess I could snap a photo this weekend of the progress I’ve made so far. :D

The blanket is coming along. It’s starting to get to that phase where you can kinda get cozy with it while working on it. That’s nice. Bought a little more yarn last night so I have plenty to keep working on. It’s looking quite interesting.. can’t wait to finish and take some photos.. I think the finish product will be pretty cool.
If I’m diligent, I think it could be complete by the end of the month! Woo!

I’m still working on the blanket.. it’s going to be kinda weird. I hope it turns out cool.. there are some spots I’m not sure about.. what I’m doing is using the same colors for the scarf but the blanket is more of the gold than the purple.. then I’m bringing in sort of random stripes with the purple, but some of the purple stripe must always touch another purple stripe from the row before.. what I’m sort of hoping happens is a slightly “sound wave” visual effect, but I think in some spots I put too much purple..
It’s just for fun, and just to practice double crochet.. there are no interesting or fancy stitches.. I’ll have a lot of ends to hide in the blanket though.. and I’m not sure how well that will go over…

I’m working on a scarf right now.. It’s going to be so cozy and soft. Continuing to work my way up to consistent stitches so my big blanket will be nice and even.

So, I did actually wind up making a purse for myself. I will show photos of it once the straps are done. (Still have to decide how I want to do the straps).
But I’m working on my single and double crochet, and really working on making sure I do the proper amount of turning chains, so that my rows stay even.
I feel pretty confident with the single crochet and I’m now pushing through double crochet.
As soon as those two are down and secure, I will start to plan a blanket!

I’m currently honing my crochet skills right now by crocheting a table runner of sorts (or a wall decoration thing), as my practice round for making something that will be fairly good sized.
This current project is only using the single crochet stitch. I would also like to practice a double crochet stitch on one more project before delving into a basic blanket… and the first blanket I do will definitely be basic for now.
Still need to nail down consistant and even looking edges too. So I think project #3, after the double crochet project, will be my first blanket.

I actually have crocheted and knitted blankets. Came out very well. Found a “Learn to Knit” kit from QVC (Complete with video tape) back in 2003 and I have been at it ever since. Learned how to crochet from a magazine article. Great hobby.

Actually, I’ve crocheted quite a few blankets … one for each of my four kids, one for me/my hubby, one each for my ex’s bro’s three kids plus two I did and eventually frogged and reused the yarn for other projects.
