a linguist from germany is here to help teach our language.
i took a class this morning. i love it.
i learned how to say “is that you?” in our language. :)
in our language, there is no ‘hello’ .. people greet each other with a phrase which means ‘is that you?’
then i learned how to say ‘yeah it is I’
very cool . but still very hard. it uses part of the throat that you never normally use.

in my language CHOO means BYE
everyone says it… when saying bye over the phone… or in person … they say CHOO
a friend came once with a friend of hers. they were missionaries in Africa.
we have a sign on the way out of our reservation. it says CHOO (on the way out!) she was surprised and asked why it said that … because where she was in Africa … CHOO means TOILET!!!
so funny ! :)

i can count to 10 in my language
and know how to say teeth (chee chee chee)
our language is very difficult … i took an evening lesson once … and the language uses a lot of the back of your throat… like you’re choking out something LOL
so after my lesson.. and the next day…..my throat was SORE!
but i would LOVE to learn it
i’m chinese but was born and live in canada. My dad talks to me in english and mom usually goes half and half with english and chinese and i always respond in english. i hope to practice more and become fluent in my own native tongue.
