I’ve been home for the last 2 hours, still a bit tired but I feel great. My son is relaxing while watching “The Wild” on VCD. We had a great time at Novotel KL, went shopping at Berjaya Times Square and a nice room service dinner while watching TV. We hit the pool as soon as we checked in and had another go this morning, joined by my sister’s family. More was indeed merrier! :D
After breakfast, we went to Aquaria near KLCC and watched all sorts of aquatic creatures including a few sharks and several huge sting rays. Lunch was at Kenny Roger’s Roasters where Ammar had his customary big bowl of macaroni and cheese. We headed home right after that.
I’m so glad we did this. I spent quite a bit on the whole thing but it was money well spent. I kept my promise and my son had fun living it up for one night and spending time with his cousins. Definitely an experience worth repeating some time soon!

I booked a room for one night at a hotel right in the heart of KL. It has all the trappings of a decent hotel, but most importantly, the pool seems decent and very near to shopping malls!
We check in on Xmas day, noon to be exact. I haven’t planned what we’ll do first, etc. but I’m so looking forward to this. My son’s excited too, but I suspect it hasn’t hit him properly yet ;) And we’re catching the new movie “A Night at the Museum” starring Ben Stiller later that evening. I hear it’s loads of fun.. :D

that instead of going away, I’m gonna check into a city hotel with my son, one with a nice pool and near a shopping mall so that we can swim, eat at fancy places serving our favourite foods, catch a movie and the cherry on top of this cake, splurge on a bunch of books! Borders.. here I come!! Oh, and have a nice, hefty breakfast before checking out and heading home.. :D

We might turn this into a proper family vacation. Thinking of Penang, since BIL is yet to check out the place. It’s quite alright I guess, not the city center.. but maybe the beach front would be better. Food choices are always glorious in Penang, provided one can find a parking spot at the infamous Gurney Drive. My personal fave is the “fruit rojak”—honestly, I don’t think there’s an English term for “rojak”. It’s a combo of different types of fruits (e.g. pineapple, mango, etc) eaten with a spicy black-coloured sauce with a generous dash of grated peanuts. The last time I had one, I ate so much of the stuff til I almost lost my voice. Typical me doing everything in overdrive :P

with a pool, easy access to shops, probably near the sea so that I can listen to the waves as I drift off to sleep. Maybe near a zoo, or a park where we can both run free, toss frisbies and fly kites, putting tomorrow on hold. I’m thinking.. Langkawi island
