move away from my ex

I have no hang-ups with my ex. We split up 3 years ago. We have a son together. He is a controlling man, using his parental responsibility to control me. He is taking me to court to stop me from moving with my son, 100 miles or so up the road.

My final court hearing is in February.. I have been waiting 7 months so far to move. I am getting very impatient.

When I do move, I will feel so free. It will be a new lease of life for me. It will be fantastic.

Just this court thing to go through.

And so far, it’s been really messy. My 3 year old son isnt taking it too well. In fact, his behaviour is dramatically changing. It’s best for him if he is no longer put through this. Which is one BIG reason I need to move away. sigh I’m just trying to do the best by my son. I cant live under my exes control any longer and my son cant be in the middle of it for the rest of his life.

I actually moved on Wednesday. It’s been 4 days since I have seen my ex and I am now officially more than 150 miles away from him. I am already feeling better. Now the real healing (from the break up) can begin since I don’t have to see him every day.

Moving Day! I’ve almost done it. There’s still so much to do and I keep finding things that make me cry again. Like stubs to movies we went to, notes he wrote me once, an empty pack of his favorite cigarettes (when he was smoking), etc. I decided that I’m going to save a small box of these types of items. We were together for a little over 7 years. I think it’s okay to keep a small box to remember him by.

My ex actually moved out of the apartment a couple weeks ago. Now all that’s left to be done is for me to move out of the city. This will happen in about three weeks.

My now ex and I still share an apartment. I move at the end of next month. I’m counting down the days.
