I want to go. 5 months ago

I just want to pick up and go. I will minimalize, sell off everything I own, and go. Go someplace I have always dreamed of. I will get a job in a bakeshop or restaurant, learn the language, and go. I will meet and mingle with the locals, soak up the culture, experience the traditions, and go.

Live overseas for a year.

Once I’ve finished my first degree.

Better start saving…

I feel like I am finally ready to live my dream of living overseas for a year (or so). But, I my boyfriend and I each have a fulltime job, and we have a mortgage. I will be able to leave my job and come right back (its retail), but he’s not sure if he will. Do you have any advice?!

The tricky thing is, how do I uproot everything? Where would I even start?

And I´m having a blast! I miss home (San Francisco and Berkeley) sometimes, but Europe is amazing. So far I have spent one week staying with family in France, two weeks at French school in Cannes, and two-plus months in rural Switzerland working as an au pair. I HATED that job but still managed to have a great experience. I am leaving today for a month-long trip in Austria, Norway, and Sweden and then I am coming ba´ck to “my” village to work on organic farm. Who knows what other adventures await me!

the ongoing adventure 22 months ago

I got out of South East Asia and have been living in London for the past year, and love love the insight and experience of being here.

I have done things and extended myself beyond what I would do if I was back home in the comfort of my family and friends, and realizing, I am capable of more is liberating.

Still an ongoing adventure, and who knows what will happen next? ;)

I lov etravleing and these places have been an interegal part of my life. these place were the ones for 1 year or more. i could have used longer stays in some other places to make them more memorable.
