Cansu confused...
How I did it: Alright, this is the third time I paint my room. Last time I did it, it was in 2007, I guess. I had painted it with two tones of pink with a tiny wall striped with different tones of pink, white, black and gray. This time it was a little bit harder to convince my parents to get me painting my room. But with a lot of talking and dragging mom to the store to buy some paint on Saturday, I finally found myself ready to do it.I hesitated … Read how I did it…

How I did it: During the summer of 2008, I painted my bedroom two different shades of purple. The whole process took four days due to wallpaper removal, putting a coat of primer over the pink hearts, then actually painting the room. That's not counting the time it took to put the whole room back together, of course, but I digress. The fresh, new colors and the change of decor made me feel excellent about myself, about my room, and it … Read how I did it…

How I did it: I needed time to set aside in order to start painting so I decided to wait for spring break to paint. I bought some paint over the weekend, I decided on a shade of green called Asparagus. The hard part was putting tape on the edges of the walls that I wasnt going to paint. Being short made the ceilings hard to reach too. But I managed to finish everything with the help of my dad. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Sam and I spent the whole of Valentine's Day painting my room. We did 2 coats of magnolia paint on 3 walls and 2 coats of 'chocolate chip' on the 4th wall. It took longer than expected, though we did have a few breaks to watch Short Circuit and eat lots of treats! It was actually a really lovely way to spend the day together. The paint cost me about £30 in total, half of which my mum paid for. I'm so happy, I've wanted a feature wall for … Read how I did it…

my bedroom is painted this really ugly yellow colour. it makes me sad. also, the walls are marked and i accidently ripped a big chunk of paint/plaster off the wall when trying to remove this random plastic hook thing (oops). would really like to get it painted soon, but i’m stuck on colour choice. also the hideous curtains are gone too, thank god.
p.s. this is not my furniture or stuff, just a photo from when the house was for sale on the internet. yellow is definately not my favourite colour =(
Tropicana Hana Has become a RADIANT RED HEAD and looks so good ♡
I’m so full of ideas an have a passion for color and design. Show me a color and I’ll imagine a whole layout, furniture, and theme for it. Or show me some furniture and I can envision the wall color. I’m ecclectic and like many colors and many decorating styles, so picking a color is a little overwhelming for me!
I’ve been through almost every color, having a liking towards bright red, bright yellow, fushia, intense orange… but finally settled on ‘mineral blue’ after going back to the store a lot… and continually going for that shade.
It’s a rich dark blue that goes with my north afrian/greek liking and also can be indian inspired. But if I get sick of that, deep blue can be clean, modern, elegant. It’s very versaitle. So I finally bought the color to help me commit. It matches my current furniture peices (well a tik wood room screen, teal wall mirrors, and bright floral motif blue lamp is all I have so far!) and having the color will help streamline my decorating ideas, so now I may be able to start investing in some furniture!
Just have to start painting and this won’t happen till I get some family/friends over for a painting party!! I’m excited :D
Cansu confused...
I had painted my room twice before. It’s always been fun to do it and made me happy in the end…
This time, I got bored of what I had painted (two colours of pink, and one tiny part with stripes even, I am SAD that it’s gonna get gone… :() but it got too dirty. Mom keeps saying that she’s gonna get painter to paint the whole house, but she has been saying that since last summer. So today was the time to buy the paint.
Lovely colours…
Tomorrow I’ll be packing most of my stuff, moving some out of my room so I can start to paint in the early morning next morning. Yay! I’m so happy!
ok soo im half way thru im changing it from really dark colour to white so i need a few coats so iv done two already and then i need to do one more doo the wood work and then the floors and ill be done with this and on to the fun bit of arranging my room how i like it and bying new things for it!!! btw loving the smell of fresh pain in my room p.s im not a glue sniffer btw i just like the smell of fresh paint!!!
When my family moved into our first house since my mom and dad’s divorce when I was little, I was excited about a whole lot of things, but probably one more than any other: I got to paint my room. Any. Color. I wanted.
After MUCH careful consideration and endless debates (with myself, mostly), I chose a gorgeous (in my opinion, of course) shade of dark, rich, almost jewel-toned, almost red, <3 pink <3. It’s official shade name was Bella.
Now, let me tell you, I am the first to admit that I can be a ridiculously indecisive person. If I buy a shirt and later decide I could’ve saved my money for something I’d like better, I’ll mourn it for a month. (I know, I’m crazy – but at least I’m honest :P). But this color – oh, I cannot even explain with words that exist how much I absolutely adored this color. I never ONCE regretted it (!!!) or even thought about what it would be like if I’d chosen something else. Basically, it was just… me.
So, of course, when we had to move a few months ago (and I had to paint over it beforehand), I was pretty devastated. Even more so when the apartments we moved to did not allow painting.
However, (as mentioned in my “Unpack my room!” goal), we have since moved again, and the place we now live DOES allow painting! :D Before we even began packing to move again, I bought the paint (...and guess which color I chose?) and all the supplies. I planned to paint (with the help of my best friend, Kelly) the night we got our keys – but this just so happened to also be the night before we moved in. I thought this was a GOOD reason to schedule the painting adventure on that particular day (so it would be all done and out of the way before having to deal with moving furniture and boxes around and having to sleep somewhere else for a few nights, etc.) – but alas, my mom disagreed, and was worried I wouldn’t get enough sleep before the move if I carried out my plan.
So now here I am, moved in (sort of – again, see “Unpack…” goal… skdjfhsjdkf) for probably about a month now, and… the paint remains contained in its can homes, inside my closet.
Must. Paint.
That’s all.

I am tired of boring bland white walls. I need color! and i want my room to reflect some of my personality. I have three colors in mind, purple, green or scarlet red.

my walls are in a state. I have no idea what this room was used for by our house’s previous owners but the paint has so many holes and the walls are covered in grubby black marks and scratches! i’m hoping to buy the things i need in time to paint it on valentines day when my boyfriend will be here to help (it gives us a nice excuse to go out for a romantic meal since the house will smell of paint fumes!) i want 3 walls in a neutral, cream colour, and one in a nice coffee brown, to match my amazing bargain curtains (i found them hidden in the stockroom at work – did a quick price check and found they were on sale nearly 2 years ago and reduced from £45 to £4!)
busy4thyr did 21/43 of his summer goals
I know that, for me, this was supposed to be a “summer goal” and I didn’t exactly get around to it… but it’s going to have to be done soon… There’s one of those dampness stains coming up on my ceiling so I’ll have to attend to it some time or another… I think I’ll keep the colours I have now, however… My room’s super cool :D
