NotCasey only 5 weeks til xmas vacation...

I think I'm done with this. 1 week ago

I can trace my family history back only so far, and then it stops. And I’ve had a professional look into it.
My grandfather can’t remember his mothers name – she left when he was little – and his dad committed suicide, so it’s difficult to ask him about it. In all probability, my family originated in Mallorca, in the Ballearics, and then moved on the Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, and finally to England. But I doubt I’ll ever get this confirmed, so I’ll never really be able to feel like I know who I am 100%, which is sad.
My grandmother is also complicated. I can’t trace her family back very far, although I found some evidence that some family members sailed here from Quebec. But who knows, they could have been returning from a vacation.

I love learning about family history. Both sides are from the Caribbean, but working with my great uncle I’ve learned that my paternal side has African ancestry from Angola, Ghana, Sierra Leone and European ancestry from Wales, Scotland, England and Sweden.

I don’t know much about my mom’s side, except that in addition to African heritage, we have Irish, Kalinago (Carib) Indian, Danish and possibly Argentinian heritage. No one has done much research on my mom’s side yet though – I hope to do some traveling and stuff when I get out of college and hit up some archives. Being a anthro major, all of this is very fascinating to me.

If I learn more, I might be pleased with what I find out. I need to know my past to have a future. All I know is that my Great Great Great Grandfather was a chief for a wolf tribe but, I don’t know much about Chief White Hair, his real name is Pawhuska, that means White Hair, but basically I only know my father’s side.
