do theatre again

Picked up a copy of Theatre BC News today.

I’ve been involved in technical and backstage work, and actually have an entire résumé of credits. (From music to writing.) No formal background in drama, but I’d certainly like to move to the other side of the curtains.

At the very least, I’d just like to be involved again. I’d even build sets if I had to! LOL (I’m a carpenter.) Or lighting.

The feeling of being on a stage is like nothing I can even begin to describe. Theatre is something that truley makes me happy and makes me feel alive, even in the darkest of times. I miss it so much!

So, baby steps. Last spring I was a part of a One Act, so I got a little taste of theatre again, which was really fun. This summer I enrolled in an Acting class, so I get to learn and practice daily! It was the best decision of summer thus far.

I did a great deal of theatre in high school, but I quit my senior year.

My first year at community college, I took a theatre class and the director asked me to join the theatre program there. I turned him down.

I miss theatre a lot, so i think I’m going to try and start doing community theatre.

I used to do plays and drama all the time in school. I should have really stuck to it. Maybe I’ll look for auditions!
