do a pilgrimage in Japan

This is something that I wanted to do in 2005 but I was nowhere near organised enough. The 88 sacred temples of Shikoku is a 1150km loop of the island. It takes about 45-60 days if you walk it.

I’d like to do a pilgrimage to see what I’d learn. You can learn just by walking, but I think a pilgrimage would be more spiritual. And I like the communal aspect. Not sure when I’ll get to do my pilgrimage. I need to do more research on other (shorter?) pilgrimages in Japan but I like this one because it’s a circle.
