jmozaic is all up on Modern Warfare...
I have been meaning to buy Rossetta Stone for about 2 years now. By April 2010 I want to have the program and by April 2011 I want to travel to that country (Spanish countries or France) and challenge myself not to speak English.

I want to travel all over the world and see new places and meet new people. Even though English is almost global I still think it’d be beyond cool to learn a few different languages and I will one day!

Learning a language was something that seemed like a good idea, but too hard. For my next degree it’s required, so it gave me the perfect opportunity to do so and while challenging, also rewarding.

Haven’t decided which I like more: Spanish or Japanese. Have decided to pursue both. Fortunately in each language I possess different skill levels. So in Spanish I’ll be reading literature and conversing with the locals… as opposed to Japanese where I will be struggling on my own to get my skills up to par at conversational level… oh yah, and that Kanji thing… hehe.

Ette is going to the gym
Talked to a regular at my work who knows many Languages and he was excited for me, until I showed no progress and then he gave up on me. I got more determined to do this because I dont like people thinking I can’t. Whatever works. I cant wait until he comes in again and I can say a few words to him. People are the best motivators.

I want to learn to speak another language, but I have not decided which.
I am looking into careers related to social work which involve working with vulnerable or minority groups in the uk. What would be a useful language to learn? What is the largest minority group in the uk, perhaps that would give me an indication of what would be the most popular second language to learn in the UK. Arabic perhaps? Urdu? Any suggestions anyone? I know Spanish is popular and I alreayd know the basics but I’m unsure how useful that would be to have for a career.

Thai is hard!

I do not recommend learning thai as a second language unless you get LOTS of help! This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done!

Dennis is still studying Calculus and is engaged!
I still want to learn another language. I know a lot Spanish already but I would also like to learn Japanese. I may see if I can get the Japanese Rosetta Stone and see what I can do with that.
