Eat Dim Sum in Hong Kong

As a tribute to my son, I will still make a trip to Hong Kong when he would have been ten years old and see the sights. And write a book about our journey.

I’ve always wanted to visit Hong Kong and China because that’s where my family comes from. But every time I plan a trip to go there, something happens and the trip gets cancelled. However, I would like to make it a far-off goal of taking my son, when he is ten years old on a trip to introduce him to his ancestoral culture.

I like Dim Sum but it can be hard to find them many places in Dublin that do them.
Hong Kong is famous for its varying Chinese Regional food but especially its Dim Sum. On my last day there I ventured into a busy restaurant near Canton Road that had pictures of Dim Sum in the window.
None of the staff spoke much English but with much pointing etc I managed to order about five dishes of various Dim Sum.
I had delicious steamed parcels of Pak Choy and Scallops as well as Minced prawn and pork. I also ended up with barbeque beef in a rather glutinous pastry and pan-fried greens in a tart fish sauce. It was all very tasty and as everyone else in the restaurant was Chinese, it was also an authentic experience of food in Hong Kong.
