write and publish a book

i never thought of myself as much of a prose writer.
so i suppose, if i’m ever going to get this goal off my list i better start practicing.

and i have.
and i’d say i’m getting better.

I printed a few copies of my 2nd draft on Lulu.com, which turned out damn nice. I’ve now given them out to friends, and I’m waiting for feedback before doing a third (and hopefully final) edit.
In the meantime I’m back to short stories. I’ve started a semi-regular blog about my writing here: ruzkin.wordpress.com, which will hopefully encourage me to keep on moving.

So it’s taken me quite a while to consider myself as a self professed writer/poet. I have so much material in which I’ve kept to myself and a bit of which I’ve shared with others. Now I’m at the point where I want to go ahead and actually do something with my work. I’ve selected a few poems already and have started the workings of two stories so far. I hope to complete a selection of stories as well as decide on the peoems in order to begin the process of editing within the 6 months or so.

I’d like to write a book someday. I have no idea on what. I love ancient history, novels, fairy tales…maybe a memoir? But then again nobody else is as interested in your life as you are huh? Well we’ll see

I have started and intend to finish a book, even if it is something that is generic and has no real meaning behind iit. I then intend to pour my heart out into a Jane Austen-like novel, for she shall be my romantic inspiration.

Chick lit? Non-fiction? Memoir?

a best-selling one would be grand but not necessary

i have always wanted to write a book. sometimes i think it will be autobiographical. other times i think i must take creative license and turn it into fiction. i have things to say that no one has heard from me before. sometimes i feel that writing my story will help me get to the next chapter….

Well, haven’t been on here in a while. Working on the second draft of my novel at the moment, it’s a major improvement on the original. Hoping to blast through it by mid march.

Published the book, after lots of pain, in November. Had a lot of push back from the woman who copyrighted the Bunco name, in spite of the fact the game has been around more than 100 years.

Went ahead anyway, and completed the book, which we’ve sold a good many of already. Now it’s available on Amazon.com, and I’m re-doing my websites (www.buncorules.com, www.thebunkobook.com) to handle book sales as well.

I’m pretty happy with it, and learned a ton about self-publishing. Enough so that I have another one in the works already.
