This is so hard: I don’t live anywhere near a beach!

has received a heartrock. My good intentions wanted it to get to her during the really hard time she was having last year but, alas, I procrastinated. She has it now though so she will never forget that she is loved!

Because Sometimes, Hormones Need a HeartRock 23 months ago

Heidi called today in a hormonal funk. I commiserated but it didn’t feel like enough. So, when my boss was on his way out to a meeting which Heidi would also attend, I handed him a small heartrock and asked him to give it to Heidi when he saw her. I hope it helped.

A Rock with Heart! 2 years ago

I meant to post this here when we got back from Maine. As I was basking on the rocks at Reid State Park, I realized that I was on a rock with heart!

I gave one... 2 years ago

to SoCal and the love was going both ways! Isn’t it nice that we can feel something that is surely love for people we meet out here in 43T-land?

    Virtual Heartrocks 2 years ago

Somewhere along the way, I decided to start sharing “virtual” heartrocks with people here on 43T. If one of my friends here is in anguish or just in a funk, I try to send a heartrock. I have sent one to a total stranger on her first day here because she seemed so genuinely sad and lonely. The response has been all good so I will probably continue to do this tiny act of encouragement.

    Glo's Heartrock 2 years ago

My friend, Glo, was at work yesterday for the last time before her surgery to remove a tumor in her colon later this week. We are all feeling very confident that she will be fine but it is so scary and sad sometimes. I gave her a heartrock yesterday morning. I had held it in my hand for an hour or so before I gave it to her, trying mightily to fill it with as much hope and love as I could get out of my spirit. When I gave it to her, it was warm from the holding and she said that she could feel the warmth and the love. Please, pray/meditate/hope for her. She is precious to me.

My mom collects them and i find them so pretty.
But they’re very hard to find. I was going to give one to a girl, but no matter how hard i tried, i couldnt find a single one.

The Heart...It is the Most Holy Place. 3 years ago

My DH and I had dinner with M and K (from our Bible Study class) tonight. M and K are from Iran and, while M speaks very good English, K has only a little bit! Before we headed to their home, I did a quick google search on the hospitality customs of Iran and learned that a small gift for the hostess was the norm. Moritified that I had nothing, I picked up one of my heart rocks and showed DH. He was more mortified by the concept of giving them a rock than I had been at the idea of giving them nothing – “They won’t get it,” he said. Then I remembered a small pottery bowl from Maine in my “just in case I need a gift” box in the cabinet. So I got that small bowl out, put it in a small box and tied a lovely ribbon around it. DH, having had some kind of change of heart (the power of a heart rock, no doubt) said, “You could put the rock in the bowl.” So, when we arrived and had finished our greetings, I gave K the box. After my crash course in the customs of her homeland, I had not expected that she would open the gift at that moment, but she did. I told her, with little expectation that she understood what I was saying, that the bowl was from Maine and the rock was a heart rock – given with love. She turned to K and said something that I had little chance of understanding. He smiled and responded and then turned to me with the heart rock and said, “This comes from a holy place?” and I said, “Well, not officially, but I certainly consider Maine a holy place!” His response was so wonderful, “The heart…it is the MOST holy place. Thank you!”
