Road Trip.

Trip 20 months ago

Everyone who has either lived or visited Oregon has told me that I have to go so I want to take their advice and actually visit this place.

Ahh 20 months ago

Sweet countryside… so much nicer than here in New York…

Oregon is great 20 months ago

We visited oregon last year. we came up from california through the redwoods and drove to grants pass. went to a couple of wineries and continued on to crater lake. if you go to oregon make the trip to crater lake. it is the most beautiful blue lake you have ever seen… and its ontop of a mountain. after crater lake we drove up through bend and then cut across the mountains heading for portland.
It was a great vacation and now me and my girlfriend are looking into moving to oregon.

Actually.... 2 years ago

Despite what most people might think – Oregon is absolutely beautiful and the people there are very nice. It was pretty hilarious that you cant pump your own gas there though – being from Texas… I wouldnt have thought anything of it. But apparently you arent really allowed to pump your own gas – I guess I right to work state or something like that – so they have attendants that do that for you!! I loved it – it was beautiful…. if you have a chance – go and see the waterfalls – they are really breath taking. And the picture—I actually took the picture I included!! it was awesome

Oregon is terrible, horrendous, awful 2 years ago

What a vile state. From the constant rain, the constant gloom, the cold and then, for kicks, the excessive dusty heat, Oregon is a terrible place. It always seems to be at the top for unemployment, suicide, depression…they must all be related.

The people are deeply ignorant, uneducated for the most part, rednecked to the max outside of Portland, racist, sexist and alarmingly unhappy and aggressively so. If you enjoy being depressed, if you enjoy financial ruin, if you want your career to become nonexistent then Oregon is definitely for you.

It has IMO a false reputation for being a beautiful state but the scenery is so-so, the beaches are too cold and overcast to be charming and everything else is just mud and overgrown blackberries. Multnomah Falls is the best on offer but it’s just a small park on the side of a highway with a tall but otherwise unimpressive fall. It’s not Bridal Veil.

The Rose Gardens are about the size of a large family yard and the roses are very spindly. Why Portland is called the Rose City is beyond me. Portland should be called moss city, blackberry city, mud city, mold city, algae city and be much closer to achieving truth in advertising.

Oregonians are, rather sadly, still trying to claim that they want people to stay away in order to keep the state unspoiled. That’s a 20 year old ad campaign that was supposed to boost the morale of Oregonians since everyone wanted to move to California….including Oregonians.

Now it’s ‘please come and bring your business’ because there are many unemployed and underemployed people out here. That’s actually quite sad because it’s hard to sell a house out here now that the housing market bubble has popped just as it’s difficult to get a comparable professional position if you lose yours.

It’s a great deal of risk for an unimpressive place. I wish someone had bothered to warn me instead of feeding me lies.

It’s one of the few states I have yet to visit - OK, technically I’ve crossed over the Idaho border but that definitely should NOT count - but I didn’t know you only got 43 slots. :) I added Portland to 43 places instead.

I live in Oregon 3 years ago

It is very nice here… It is like Canada. I am writing this on Birch bark…and it is appearing here in text…funny, huh.

My mom moved to Oregon 3 years ago

And it’s such a beautiful state. You have to visit the coast, specifically Cannon Beach, as well as Multnomah Falls and the Clackamas River. Be sure to do some hiking while you’re there (go in the summer!). I recommend hiking to the top of Multnomah (that’s actually what I’m doing in my profile picture). Also two of my favorite restaurants/bars are in Oregon as well—Calamity Jane’s (awesome burger joint; any burger you can imagine, they make) and McMenamins in Edgefield (has a quaint little bar called Jerry’s Ice House and a great movie theatre & pub).

The picture was taken at Cannon Beach.

stupid oregon... 4 years ago

I’ve gotten two speeding tickets in my life, and they were both in Oregon (first was driving from Klamath Falls to Sacramento after my grandma’s funeral, second was moving from Sacramento to Seattle). I didn’t even deserve them, either. Everyone in Oregon passes me and gets right on my ass unless I’m going like 25 over the speed limit. I hate Oregon. Never go there.
