I only made it to 48.
There were too many restrictions which hindered me, namely running the alphabet twice thru with authors initials. I was never finding another “X” author, and my library just had nothing interesting.
So I’ve taken 2008 off.
I’m debating trying it again in 2009.

langenoire is frustrated by finding a job and needs advice.
Since it’s most decidedly not 2007 anymore, it’s time to give this up. It was a good experiment. I think I shall have to set myself a goal for the last 6months of 2008.
Working full-time really cut into my reading. Can’t say that I’m sorry. I still think I can be done if you focus. Unfortunately ? I have a lot of hobbies and have to spread my time out.

83, total! That’s counting re-reads, though, so I’m not sure what the total is otherwise.
It really wasn’t hard for me- I love books, I read quickly & constantly. But maybe I’ll try for 100 (104?) in 2008.
Some things that helped me- having friends do it to. Recommendations are awesome. :) I looked forward to posting the list with my brief reviews on my blog, & reading my friends’ reviews is always inspiring to try new things.
Also: www.goodreads.com. For the library geek in me. To keep track of what everyone else is reading, what I have, what I thought of them, & which I want to buy for myself. That way, I didn’t just read 80+ books and promptly forgot what they were. It’s nice to save that somewhere, so when you say “what book was that again?” it’s easy enough to find.

As I failed to keep track, I’ve no idea whether I achieved this or not. I’ll try again this year.

Well, I’d been shooting for 100, and I’d even had them all planned out on the calendar, but holiday preparations cut seriously into reading time.

2007 is over

so it’s on to the same goal in 2008!

Ok, so I failed my goal of reading 52 books in 2007. I didn’t get serious about the goal until late in the year, and then just got busy. However, My late push did bring my reading habit back though, so I feel more confident for 2008.
So, I’ll end this goal as not met, but will go into my 2008 goal with more optimism. 30 still isn’t a bad effort – not up to my standards, but decent. I read a ton of non-fiction on the Internet and magazines, so it’s not like my reading skills are not utilized each and every day.
