How I did it: I would just throw used article of clothing on the floor because my closet was full and I couldn't find anymore hangers. Mind you, my house was built in the 1970s, so I don't have one of those fancy walk-in closets, and thank goodness for that!
After continuously asking my husband "Have you seen my [article of clothing], I decided that I can no longer do this anymore.
I spent one Saturday cleaning out my closet. I dumped EVERYTHING on the floor and decided that all that would go back in were things I: fit into, wanted to wear, and would be able to wear once I have this baby.
That's right.
Being 7 months pregant really helped with what I went back in because even though I really liked something, some things I parted with because I don't know if I would even fit into them again, OR, when and if I DID fit into them, they would still be in style.
Once I was done, I still had room to spare...and a heap of clothes, belts, and other knick-knacks to donate to our local Goodwill.
Now, I never throw my clothes and the floor and it is so much easier to get ready in the morning! Everything that is mine is right in front of me! Read how I did it… 3 weeks ago

How I did it: First, I had to mentally prepare myself to stop throwing my clothes on the floor. After all, I've been doing this my whole life and everyone else still does. I made a goal for myself every day not to throw my clothes on the floor and every day that I left clothes on the floor I would pick them up before bed. After doing this for a few weeks I had successfully went from throwing clothes on the floor to actually using a hamper. Read how I did it… 10 months ago

I am apparently clothes challenged; however, I am at least picking up the clothes a few times a week now, and I must say that it has greatly improved the ambiance of my bathroom and bedroom. 19 months ago

How I did it: Instead of focusing on what not to do, I focused on what needed to be done. First I had to get caught up on all the laundry. Doing that, I figured out the most efficient way to get it done.
Now we throw the clothes over the banister at night and even though it's technically on the floor, its all in a place where I can just scoop it up and do a load of laundry first thing in the morning.

I realized last night that I wanted to hang up all of my clothes, but I ran out of hangers! I guess it’s time to buy more hangers, or, alternatively, get rid of some clothes!
This was the third night that this happened, and while I couldn’t hang up everything, at least I tried! I’m going to shoot for getting rid of two things tonight. 2 years ago
