i discovered it by accident. first mix honey nut cheerios with peanut butter, then smear it on top of a kosher dill pickle. it’s fabulous and really does stimulate a unique combination of taste buds.
p.s. you can use regular cheerios too, but honey nut makes it sweeter.

When I was in 7th grade, my Utah studies teacher musta been high or sumthin, cuz she offered us extra credit if we would eat a PB&P sandwich….they totally rock my polka dot socks! E-z-ist 50 points i’ve ever made. I almost felt like a geek for enjoying extra credit…almost. =]

My siblings & I have been eating peanut butter and pickle sandwiches (always kosher dill, anything else is gross, lol) ofor over 40 years. I will have this as a meal or a midnight snack and often crave it in the middle of the night. It is my guilty pleasure. My friends think it is weird but when I try to convince them how tasty it really is they just make that funny scrunched up face like someone just farted. I try to explain to them the anatomy behind the tongue: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami (savory) taste receptor sites on the tongue. They usually get a glazed look in their eye, shake their head in utter disgust while at the same time saying that they could never imagine even having the resembleance of az desire for such a bizarre concoction.
This is why you should try this at least once before you move this into the arena strictly reserved for pregnant women. Much like salty and sweet together is quite tastey (such as kettle corn, honey glazed ham, or really good melons with salt) so PB&P stimulates the salty and sour sensations simultaneously, a combination that does not occur often but can be experienced with salt and vinegar potato chips. If you like that flavor of chips, then rest assured you will like PB&P even more.

I’m not sure where I got the idea to try a PB & pickle sandwich. However, they are good. Creamy peanut butter and dill pickles.
I think I may go make myself one right now.
P.S. I’ve also tried a Mayo & pickles sandwich. This idea I got from a couple friends. It’s an okay sandwich, but not as good as PB & Pickle.

I’ve always wanted to try this. I read about it in a book somewhere, but it sounds kind of gross, so I haven’t been that brave yet.
