This book became a huge priority and bumped down the Mezzanine because I had a wedding that I was doing this weekend. And while I learned some from it, it was definitely a nice refresher course and helped reinforce a lot of other stuff for me. Definitely got me pumped to do the wedding make-up.
I’m a big fan of reading all the make-up books that I can just cause they all teach me something or at the very least inspire me.
If you are getting married than this is definitely a great book to read to get you excited about your own make-up (and your bridal parties) and teach you a lot about creating beautiful (and appropriate) bridal looks. I would also recommend starting early! The more you practice your look the more beautiful you’ll look the day of!

I used to love to read a lot… and then I became an English major… and I read a lot… too much, more than I could handle and it broke my love of reading a little. Since then, I’ve started a lot of books… but never finished very many of them. I get excited about a new book or I don’t read often enough or whatever and before I know it I don’t really remember what’s going on exactly in the book and I lose interest completely.
Lately, I’ve been starting to finish the books I’ve been reading. It started small with make-up books and books on self improvement, but has grown now to historic novels… I’d been setting goals to finish whatever book I was reading, but now it’s time to set a goal bigger than that. I want to read 10. This will be quite the accomplishment for me.

I brought a few books with me on my trip to Peru, but only ended up finishing Stiff by Mary Roach. It is about the ‘lives of human cadavers’, and I found it to be fascinating. Definitely worth reading.

Yesterday evening I finished reading Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, and I thought it was great. I have seen the movie [which is also great] and had been searching for the book for a long time when Ryan [friend] told me had a copy and would lend it to me. The book is similar to the movie, with some exceptions, but still very worth reading. One more book to go.

Today I finished reading a memoir called A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah. It takes place in Sierra Leone where he lived and fought in the army as a child soldier. This book was fascinating and inspriational; Phil [boyfriend] started reading it the moment I was done. Two more books to go.

Yesterday I started reading Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres, and couldn’t put it down; I ended up reading the whole book in a matter of hours. Jesus Land is a memoir and tells the story of a girl and her adopted black brother growing up in Christian-Indiana. I highly suggest reading this book. Three more books to go.

Today Phil [boyfriend] and I both finished the books we were reading, mine being Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I really, really enjoyed this book; it was extremely interesting. I’m going to have Phil read it next. Four more books to go.

I finished reading I Don’t Want To Be Crazy by Samantha Schutz yesterday, after getting home from camping. This book is a story of a girl’s life and time in college while dealing with an anxiety disorder. I found it to be a bit young for me, and overall I wouldn’t recommend it as something to read. Five more books to go.
