GazeboGalDone for now

Had some good knitting time to finish a child-size pair and handed the socks to the elementary school nurse, who will know just who needs them. Socks not so difficult with a Magic Loop, but still, they’re socks. Next project will be easier :) going to mark it done! 5 years ago

GazeboGalWill definitely get another pair done by Yule

...even among other holiday knitting. This is really fun! The local shelter which collects clothes isn’t terribly reputable, but I give ‘em to the local minister (who is also the town welfare officer) and she knows who needs them… 5 years ago

GazeboGalToe Up!

Found a toe-up pattern to try, will begin first pair next weekend (after i’ve finished scarf for V). 5 years ago

EmelleHate to give up

but I’m not really a sock knitting person. I don’t much enjoy it, and I’m not very good at it. Thus I haven’t made a single pair of socks for charity. I’m going to switch to a more general charity knitting goal, which may include socks at some point if I improve. 5 years ago

GazeboGalHmmm...

I suppose the first thing to do is to sort out all my yarn and find the washable wool! Now there’s a mammoth task which will be fun !6 years ago

DanYHKimWe've launched a web page to describe it

(I didn’t read the rules in detail, so I hope this doesn’t violate my user agreement here. If it does, I apologize)

My wife and I throw a monthly open-invite picnic in Las Cruces, NM. Our church sponsors it, and we get word out to our homeless community so they can come.

Last year on the day before Easter, we had a foot-washing as well. We washed feet, applied moisturizer and gave away socks. The response to the socks was so positive that my wife decided to learn how to knit wool socks to give away. She wanted to knit 100 pair, but it was really too much for her.

I just launched 200socks.com to try to get more hands on the job. Take a look (warning: pretty rough page so far). 6 years ago

swtsail2cozy socks

I am ready to make a commitment to knit socks for others. I think I will start giving them to a women’s shelter making children and adult sizes. I am moving to Warrenton Va. and will be close to the D.C. area. Will upload a pic soon. joey 6 years ago
