I went to lunch yesterday at Sweet Tomatoes, and the check came out to less than it normally does. I thought it odd, but was glad to pay less.
Later, looking at the receipt, I discovered that I apparently got the senior discount. Huh? Ok, I’m getting up there, but I still have several years before I qualify for even the youngest of the senior discounts.
Those years are the 5(+) things I’m most grateful for today!!
I sure hope this is just a case of a 20-something cashier grossly misjudging her customer… and not that I actually look THAT old!

Tonight a therapist told my class that taking a few moments every day to be grateful for 5 things is a great natural anti-depressant. It’s simple and easy and the only side-effects are positive.
So I’ve decided to make it a part of my daily regimen… perhaps when I brush my teeth in the morning?
I won’t always/often write about them here, but I’ll start off that way:
1) I’m grateful that my cat is still alive, and reasonably happy and healthy at nearly 20 years of age. She’s been a great grounding influence in general.
2) I’m grateful that for my wonderful family. They’re all nearby, and there’s the small frictions and feuds here and there, but so far we’ve avoided so much of the drama that plagues many other families.
3) I’m grateful to be near the end of school for this term.
4) I’m grateful to have so many choices and opportunities available to me.
5) I’m grateful to have have met and started conversing with some very interesting, challenging, and stimulating people here on 43T.
How’d I do? It feels like it might be helpful to condense future gratitudes a bit. Perhaps take note of things less expansive, and more specific?

1. LiveJournal. It really helps to write my feelings down in a quick and easy way.
2. Whoever thought of the idea of making a yearbook at the end of high school! I’ve just started making mine, and some people have already written in it. It’s just great to think that whenever I want I can look at this book and remember all the good times and amazing people that have been in life. It puts a smile on my face (:
3. The internet, what would I do without it?
4. Mum making macaroni cheese for me because she knows it’s my favourite.
5. 90210. Great show, and I look forward to seeing it tonight.

1. “Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul” books – no matter how down I’m feeling, somehow reading this always makes me feel better, stronger and look on the bright side of the situation. I have no idea how it does it, but it does. I’m so grateful for these books!
2. Facebook.
3. Talking to Becca, somehow she makes me feel better about my current situation.
4. Hot chocolate. :)
5. The fact that my parents care and do little things like buy me cupcakes when they’re out.

The year is winding down, mad rush of last coulp months abating into a more rhythmic cadence.
I am grateful to see more clearly than before:past, and maybe future. The present is all too present for now to be seen, so i am living it fully.
I am happy and hopeful for future:)Itsa new, but nice feeling.
