I have my appointment! But I wanted it as a reward for losing a total of 35 lbs, and I still have about 19lbs to go! It’s on june 21st! (first day of summer!) So hopefully I’ll lose the weight by then!

so i tried doing this with an at-home kit. worst. idea. ever. as soon as i ripped off the wax strip i found myself stumbling through my house in pain, screaming obscenities at the top of my lungs. i’m surprised my upstairs neighbors didn’t think i was being assaulted and call the cops. anyway, i did it one more time before i gave up. and then i started thinking, “can i go through with this at a salon? they might not let me jump around and scream in pain after every step.”

I’m not worried about the awkward factor—after going to the gyno a few times (and we know what goes on there) it couldn’t be much worse to get a wax. I’m more concerned about finding a reputable salon because I’ve read in some entries here that girls have gotten burns and such. Does anyone know of a good place near Cleveland, OH?

amyvh is enjoying uni life
I really wanna do this, I’ve done it myself before and while I liked the effect it was a lot of hassle and mess. A pro one would be so much easier and probably feel smoother too.
Eventually I want to work myself up to getting a brazilian – it’s not the pain factor that bothers me, it’s the awkwardness :S
I might do it when my boyfriend goes away this weekend..

Always wondered how it would feel to get one.
I always thought it would turn me on.
We’ll see..

Do it, but make sure you go to a reputable salon. The results are worth it.

I always shave that…er, region. I just hate how fast I get stubble and razor burn is a bitch. I want to get a bikini wax. I have a pretty high tolerence for pain, so I’m not worried. If I like the results, I might just have to get it done on a regular basis!

It’s so much cleaner than shaving. It hurts but not bad.

after some research on the web, i’ve decided to try to do this on my own at home… far as i can tell, the wax i would like to use is called zipwax, its hard to find in canada, but i did find a bunch available on ebay… this zip wax stuff sounds really good, i might buy a bunch of them and see if i can save on shipping
I’m trying to find a wax warmer too.
Tips to make this go better:
trim hair to 1/4 inch
exfolliate
spread area with talc
pull skin taugt
apply warm chamomile tea afterward
use a hair growth retarder
the next day start exfolliating
use chemical exfolliants w/ salicylic acid and glycolic acid
think i’ll do this soon. I’ll let you know how it goes.
