I am doing much better on this. Listening to my body is helping me stay hydrated and less inclined to wait. I still catch myself doing that from time to time but as soon as I realize it, I stop what I am doing and go to get some water to drink.

It is amazing how an activity which is small yet important like drinking water can slip one’s mind on a regular basis. I really need to do better on this.

An increased awareness of my body’s need for water and recognition of tihrst (even if I delay quenching it) has been my accomplishment so far. I am happy with that for the moment though of course, my goal is to get to a point where I am actually consuming sufficient amount of water as a habit instead of merely thinking about it.

It has been four days but so far I have been doing better on this than last year. There is still room for improvement, of course but I am happy with my progress so far. :-)

I plan to be more diligent with this goal in 2009. I have started keeping a glass of water at my desk. Refilling it every so often helps me take a break and get some exercise during the day as well.

Having used The Daily Plate to track my water consumption has made me realize that I am drinking substantially lower quantities than I should. Need to work on this! off to get my water bottle filled!

I read in an issue of Real Simple magazine that your height in inches gives you the number of ounces of water you need to drink in a day. So if you are 5’ 6” tall, you need to drink 66 ounces of water a day.
Does that sound like a lot?

... was a good day. It is not over yet but I decidedly had more water today than I normally do. Was it enough? Not sure, probably not but I like to count my victories along the way. After all, the journey is as important as the destination, isn’t it?

There are good days and bad days. Some days I remember to drink water. Then there are days when I don’t drink a single drop practically the whole day. Got to get better at this!
