katie the kitten  — 6 months ago

I got a siamese mix kitten from the humane society when I was 4. She lived 18 years and was a very loyal and loving friend. I named her Katie after my favorite book when I was little, “Katie the Kitten”.
I think mixes are a good idea, because they are less expensive, less strange looking (some people get freaked out by ‘em, but I think they are really pretty), and they have less of the bad genetic traits and most of the good ones!
I have a new kitten: Ulli- I thought she was siamese at first because of her markings, but it turns out I think she is Tonkinese- a cool alternative breed that is kinda short and dumpy, super playful and inquisitive, and very affectionate. She is very talktaive, too but not the the annoying point. I have heard some siamese are way overly affectionate and following you everywhere, but Tonkinese seems to be very independent, but sociable and affectionate.
Other cats you might like: Burmese or Burmilla (part chinchilla- weird, but cute)

I have decided to give up on this for now  — 1 year ago

I haven’t changed my mind about owning a siamese cat, it’s just unrealistic for me right now. I don’t really see it happening any time soon, I have my hands full right now as it is.

Best breed ever  — 1 year ago

Worth doing!

I got my siamese a few months ago and she is just the best pet! She follows me wherever I go and is like a little dog, highly recommend this breed!

they’re such great and loyal cats once you get them to trust you.

Siamese are the best! But only if you can give them the attention they need. Adopting a siamese is like bringing a new person in the house; mine is always following me around, trying to do everything I do, and he always has something to say about everything. He loves to cuddle but will play tricks if he feels bored (like open cabinets and drawers, or lay claim to my husband’s chair).

If you can hack the Siamese personality and love it, then you’ll have the closest relationship with an animal you could ever ask for.

Worth doing!

I got my siamese about a year ago. I had always wanted one and my neighbors friend had a litter of kittens and she was the only siamese looking one, so I TOLD my dad I was getting a new kitten and that was that. Not knowing the personality of the siamese I was quite surprised though. She’s a little neurotic and weird sometimes, and you can forget about sleep the first few months you have one. But they are extremely affectionate and talkative. They are beautiful and funny, and I love my little Scarlet. She follows me everywhere I go and is sitting with me at the computer right now :)

Hope to do this sometime in the near future  — 2 years ago

I have always been facinated by Siamese cats. I currently have 2 cats in the house, both mutts from the shelter. Once I get my own place only my cat will come with me since the other belongs to my brother. I will have to get him a companion, and I have deceided it will be a Siamese when the time comes.
