I am recommitting myself to living a better lifestyle. My weight has contributed to Sleep Apnea, being pre-diabetic, and now I get winded just walking up ONE flight of stairs…somethings gotta give, and I don’t want my heart to be that something.

Well, I am back at about 257 :>(
I’ve had some needed surgery which made things a bit painful these last 3 weeks, but I have no excuses for almost 2 years with no more positive results. I’m recommitting myself to eating better, drinking soda on weekends only, and doubling my fruits/veggies.

i’ve been happy to not have gained weight in the last five years. in fact i’ve lost 50 pounds already, down to a size 14 from a 22. but, as my doctor said, that’s really not enough.
i have been doing a lot of the right things, but not enough of them or consistently.
i need to eat LESS every day.
and i need to eat more of the right stuff – fruits, vegetables, whole grains. eat less of the baked goods & simple carbs that are not healthy.
i need to exercise (see goal – run a 5k)
i need to eat at HOME.
i need to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night.
i need to use the pedometer i bought!
so everyday i will make good choices. i will do the hard work that will result in good health & losing the weight.

I hope to be a big fat Quitter this year (cigs) and a bigger FATTER LOSER. I want to be healthy. Lost weight, stop smoking. I am just where I have been for a LONG time. Something has to change soon…

Weekends Suck!

Ok, it’s too hard to diet on the weekend. Especially when my Mom bakes a cake for no good reason and doesn’t have turkey bacon in her house only regular bacon. i can have three peices of turkey bacon or one peice of regular. Oh, well…today is the first day of the rest of my life!!

Hunger is GOOD

I am feeling the pain of hunger and telling myself…no pain no gain. Hunger is good. I was STARVING last night as I lay in my bed. What to do? Should I get up and have a snack? No way. The only logical thing to do when trying to lost weight is let my body feel the pain. Let my body eat itself. That’s what I am going to do. That’s what I did. No pain no gain. I am not going to turn into an anorexic or anything, but I am commited to this goal. I can do it!!!

I decided to give this a real effort. So, I checked the scales and weighed in at 212 on Wed. Jan. 2. I know, this is earth shattering. Good news though! Today, January 7 I am back down to 206. I gained and lost 6 pounds around the holidays so it is a bust.
We’ll see what I weigh a week from now. Monday Weigh-Ins.
