survive christmas

It was better than I was expecting in the end.

It seems to have been going on forever this time. Feeling low and finding it a struggle. Just a few more days to go…

Every year I am glad when Christmas is over for years I’ve always found it very hard.

But I survived and had a great Christmas!! I think Hudson rather enjoyed his as well!

I checked this goal off as completed prematurely – last night I spent all night “undecorating” the house, and tonight spent a good deal of time wrapping and shopping for Round 2 of Christmas; our celebration next week with our California kids. But the worst is over …. :)

We all had a wonderful time today, but we’ve been tearing around doing Christmasy things with different branches of our families since early this morning. I’m too tired to relate it all, so I’m going to have a cup of tea, eat some of the plentiful cookies & bon-bons that are strewn about the house, and then curl up with one of our new movies. One of the better Christmases I can remember… and our little elf behaved beautifully.

Cousin Amy came over, and there were no arguments this year

Steven kept to himself, Dad just went along with anything/everything as per usual, Mum and Amy went out, Andrew was working and I had dinner in my room.

And it turned out better than expected, under the circumstances. Now onward to the challenges of the new year.

It’s halfway through the day. Others are napping. It is quiet. We had breakfast, good conversation. Being the one who does not have a cold, I cleaned up while they faded again. I wrote for awhile, have wandered about here for a bit, and will go for a walk – perhaps in nearby Victoria Park.

This year seems much more manageable than last year. I may not have to dread Christmas at all next year. Last year – that truly was hell.

What am I doing online? There are things to be done! Aaah!!
Seriously I am running out of time and starting to get scared.
