    Full Draft! 1 month ago

I finished the draft of my dark fantasy novel (actually this is a second draft, but the first didn’t have an ending- this one does). The book stands at almost 100k words. It took me a full year to get to this point. I’m not ticking this goal off yet, because I am not done – need to send out to beta readers, revise, polish, and then query.

It’s been a very frustrating process – alternating between immense pleasure and complete despair. I have no idea how I didn’t give up on the book. But I’m very happy it’s complete. All kinds of things can be done with a full draft, whereas an incomplete draft is the worst thing in the world, imho.

    I don't have a title yet. 2 months ago

I’ve been working on my novel for several months. I haven’t started writing yet, because I’ve been laying down the plot/storyline, building people, items, and places, and ironing out flaws and kinks in the timeline and plot. But the hardest part for me is actually writing the story. I have a great work of art in my hands, ready to be painted on a blank canvas for the world to view, yet I don’t know where to start. It’s actually kind of a complicated issue. I’ve laid the overall groundwork for the plot but how do I write the actual story, like conversations, and small actions (such as doing homework)? Do I improvise these small things as I go along, or do I plan out every minor detail in the story. It would please me to no end to hear another persons opinion on this subject. I hope to finish this by my 12th grade year. I guess I ave two years left on my hands…

This is really weird, but it’s actually happening. I am on the second draft of my novel, completed about 40% of it… We’ll see how it goes.

My fantasy book is coming along but I’m now doing some research to make sure I’m not stealing anything.

Finish a fantasy novel 5 months ago

I’ve attempted to write so many stories and have never really completed anything close to a novel. I’d really like to do that. So, yeah. I plan to try before I gradutate High School in June of 2009.

I’ve written since i was very young and it has always been my dream to write a novel, having it published would be a big bonus lol.
I live in a bit of a fantasy world so it’s something I’ve always been drawn to.
My roblem has always been i have a million ideas in my head but find it hard to put it down on paper, but now I’m nearing 30 I’m more determined.
Definitely not something I expect to get done soon this will be an ongoing process for a long time

So many ideas, so little time 8 months ago

I, too, am very adept at formulating spectacular book ideas. Alas, with college eating me alive, I haven’t the time to seriously sit down and write. I brainstorm and outline all the time, perhaps with a few short passages here and there, but nothing solid. Yet. I guess I should stop worrying about getting huge chunks of it done at once, and concentrate on short increments. But DAMN THAT LITTLE GRAMMAR NATZI INSIDE!!
