now when i get up in the morning, i kneel on the floor and stretch, hug and wrestle with my guys. They respond very well to this, especially Tristan who has always been pretty aloof/antisocial.
It’s also a definitive signal to them that the pack is moving out (of the “sleeping den”). I am guilty of hitting the snooze a few times and this used to confuse them. Now they lift their heads a little but don’t bother getting up until i’m officially crawling around on the floor, which sounds ridiculous but hey, it works.

Ooo – it got cold very quickly and my guys don’t want to linger outside in the morning.
It’s time to make them some new coats.
Gotta break out the sewing machine!

I have two dogs, one big one and one little one. I work 8-5 M-F. I run or go workout after work 3 days a week and then I have class 2 days of the week after work. Therefore, my little friends are not getting enough playtime. On the weekends, the old me would go out and tie one on at the bar. I am working on avoiding these situations and spending more time at home with my dogs and getting some stuff done.

I love my boys! They are always so excited to see me! It’s been hard to get outside with them lately, as it’s been so so so effin cold here. They finally barked me down into the yard last night, and once I get down there and throw a chewie for Ford a few times and play tug-o-war with Zaphod, they both get distracted & run off down into the yard and play with each other. I finally got them to pay attention to ME, and then after about 10 minutes, it happened again. So I left them to be, that IS why we got the puppy after all. Maybe I’ll have better luck this afternoon!

I have two dogs, 6 months a part, and my “baby” pug turned 5 today. She’s growing up so fast, I can’t believe I’ve had her 5 years already and I feel guilty for not giving them enough attention. I will certainly try harder from now on….

I came home to discover that Simon had eaten a roll of Scotch tape.
Yep, the roll is gone. the hard plastic holder was crushed and the roll is no where to be found.
This can be added the list:
- 1 sock. whole.
- AA Battery (just punctured, tg)
- screwdrivers
- scissors (yep multiple)
- stapler (rubber handle)
- permanent markers
- liquid pens (like uniball)
- sunglasses
- Phone book
- Dictionary
- Picture frame (wood)
- Soap
- Innumerable Tissues
- Canned Vegetables (yep. bites right thru the can)
I’m forgetting things, i’m certain.
Before you report me, I swear i’m a good pupmom! I’ve had him a couple years and provide him with lots of toys and bones but he occasionally gets his paws on something bad. De-cluttering my house has helped but as today demonstrates, not enough.

Over pizza dinner and too much wine after a very bad day, i was reading and berating an article about ridiculously posh doggie spas. My voice was escalating as i became more incredulous (and more sauced) and by the time i was reading about Labrador-only camp sessions and rich sons annoyed by their fathers blowing their inheritance on the family dog, i was nearly shouting.
Tristan and Simon (who are always nearby when there’s pizza crusts to be had) were becoming concerned about the state i was in.
All of a sudden i stopped. The magazine was spread across the top of the pizza box, a corner projecting off the edge of the table.
Tristan, obscured by the table, was covertly nibbling this corner as if to inconspicuously tug away the magazine that was making his PupMama so upset.
He saw us looking at him but proceeded to nibble nibble nibble while looking up at us with apprehension.
We burst out laughing. It was, honest to god, the hardest i have laughed in weeks, maybe months.
I guess it’s one of those ‘you had to be there’ moments but i tried my best to recreate.

Yesterday we went back to the park. I think it’s becoming our regular place. Tristan had lots more energy this time… he didn’t want to go home. Simon went a bit in the water again along with Tristan who shows no fear. I’d love to get retractable leashes, just to see how far they’d go. I have the weirdest greyhounds.

Simon’s cone is off, and he doesn’t try to aggravate his booboo anymore !! So glad. Going to take them both for a nice walk along the rail trail to celebrate. It’s suppose to rain but the sun’s holding out for a bit.
Leaving right now – see you all laters :)

Thankfully my vet is also a 24hr hospital so was able to call immediately tho we determined it could wait until morning> appt. at 8:30am.
Late to work
Out another $200
Poor Simon has ugly wound and a cone around his head.
Was going to take them hiking this weekend. >:(
Hence today’s morale: 1
