got my first “lesson” from my friend whom I’ve known for years and years – he showed me how to do a roll the proper way.

after a lifetime of being a wind instrument player who was intimidated by percussion, i finally tried out drumming the other day on the kit in our house studio – and it was so much fun! since then i’ve jammed with my husband and friends a few times. it’s so rewarding and every time feels easier than the last. i even want to work out some songs that i know (instead of just “messing around” all the time…though as an Artist’s Way graduate i realize that “messing around” is pretty serious bizness in and of itself…) 15 months ago
