As part of my getting over the fear of heights, this will be the second stage (the first is going on a “flying without fear” course with Virgin Atlantic and the third is skydiving!)...

I Went Ape 20 months ago

Saturday, in the Forest of Dean. After a mild worrying snow flurry we had a glorious day of sunshine, albeit freezing cold. GoApe was brilliant, I would recommend it to all, there are plenty around the UK so you will probably find one in a tree near you.

The gist is, it’s an assualt course up in the tree canopies. Don’t worry though, it does need a bit of fitness and a slight head for heights but, it’s not too difficult. There are easy routes and hard routes so you can choose what’s best. Of course me an my friend (24…getting on a bit) chose the easy routes, and my little sister and her mates (21..spring chickens) took the harder routes! Plus the ludicrous amount of layers we were wearing were a bit of a hinderance, so we are off again in the summer to try it out when we can feel our hands and feet!
