All my friends are getting degrees and starting their careers. I’m stuck at a job where I can’t move up. I feel unaccomplished. I don’t feel the urge to run out and get a degree – but I do feel the urge to put my talents to use. I’ve been photographing more and drawing again. I’m going to enter a couple contests and art shows to get back in the groove of creating. I’ve also started to new crafts like wood burning and want to get into metal working. I just know I’m smart and talented and I can get things done. I have wonderful husband and son - I can do this!!

Well, for the past 8 months i have been on a professional training course to become a teacher. And next week i have my first job interview! I am so excited, even if i don’t get the job, it’s nice to know that i am not as my previous post speculated, unemployable. Well they haven’t met me yet. Now, the most important question…..what to wear?
yup,
finally i pulled myself out of the sleeping mode that is “giant corporate world” and got myself a career type job.
So far its looking good.
I feel far more motivated.
As a side effect i’ve started working out again (20km biking and some gym on a daily basis).
At the new place they were kind enough to give me a proper work tool—a MacBookPro.
its all good

I have applied for countless jobs and have heard nothing back. Am i unemployable? Or am i aiming to high? Do i need to start as they put it “at the bottom of the ladder”. I’m not even sure what it is that i want to do with myself for a career…I’d rather just drink tea all day, ahhhhhhh :)
In August this year (2008) I’ll try out the carrer thing to see if its something for me.
i want to start a career and some day give my kids what i always wanted….LOVE i already get love but i need my real father so yeah
I finished school and started my own practice that was office based at first. Now I’m working on getting an in-home practice started up, so I guess I’ve started a career, but I have a feeling this isn’t my life-long career just yet.
...at university studying PR. I don’t want to stay in horrible admin jobs forever!
I am determined to get myself the first step to a career not just a job.
I want to do something I enjoy. I don’t want to care about the hours and the pay!!
So I’ve been at my job for about 5 months now. I’d say that’s the beginning of my career.
