ok. i actually need to do this now that i’ve gotten my thyroid medication and my metabolism may actually work in my favor again. technically 8 lbs overweight. that’d be a start.
How I did it: One thing that really helped me lose weight was to take a Nutrition course at college. I'm majoring in Nursing, so it's required of me, but I found it to be extremely practical for day to day life anyway. WATCH WHAT YOU EAT AND HOW MUCH; I read somewhere that 75% of weight loss is a good diet. Getting rid of processed and junk foods and just eating stuff with ingredients I can actually pronounce really helped.
I try hard to exercise 4 days a week, mixing weight training, dance, Pilates and walking. If I miss a workout, I work extra hard the next one. I also found it helpful to walk to school, to lunch, to the grocery store, whatever. Now that the weather's getting good, it's an easy way of getting more active.
Finally, it's important to have a support system, whether or not it's your friends, your family or people you know at work. Surround yourself with people who are going to encourage you to exercise and eat better, and who will remind you of your fitness goals when you're tempted.
Lessons & tips: *eat regularly-- small, healthy meals that have plenty of nutrients
*take vitamins if you're deficient in anything
*exercise in ways that you enjoy (i.e if you like running, then run)
*consult your doctor before you begin losing weight (it's terribly important to do that, especially if you think you may have some sort of condition)
*remember that this is a LIFESTYLE change, not a "I just want to fit into a dress" stint
Resources: *cable exercise videos
*having my own set of hand weights at home
*sturdy shoes
*a good bra (if you're a lady)
*taking a fitness course
*educating myself on fitness and nutrition (Internet resources)

lose fifteen pounds by my birthday. I’m going to try a combination of changing my diet habits and starting an exercise routine. By June, I hope to have a 3-5 day a week exercise routine and a healthier eating style. I’m tired of this, I’m only gaining weight because I’m too lazy to change anything.
I know my body, and I know how much weight it can carry. It’s got fifteen pounds too much right now, and it’s all in my stomach. Strangers pat my stomach and ask if I’m “expecting.” It’s humiliating.
I actually eat pretty well. I keep a food diary, and I can see that my average daily caloric intake is under 1500. I don’t have a sweet tooth, I don’t snack, and I don’t keep food in the apartment unless it’s intended for cooking in a meal. I rarely eat out. I drink several bottles of water a day, and no soda.
Despite this, the gut. I finally decided to stop being stubborn and add walking a mile a day to the plan. I started that on March 19th. The scale this morning said I’d lost a pound, but it could be a fluctuation. We’ll see in a week.
i’ve been on weight watchers coming up on a year now, and i’ve lost fifty pounds. but between november and february i gained some weight back, and i’m mad at myself over it. i want to do this to be healthy, not to fit a certain size or anything. it’s really hard—i have no self-control, i love to eat, and i love to eat really terribly un-healthy foods. but i have to see this spring as a fresh start, and forget about the weight i gained in the winter. it’s not going to change how i feel about myself now. if i don’t gain a little self-confidence, i won’t be able to complete this process.
today i ate a mini 100 calarie bagel with fat-fre cream cheese for breakfast, a hand full of grapes and yogurt, for lunch i had steamed carrotts, a boca (fake) “chicken” patty with ketchup, and a yogurt..dinner was sushi- avocado and cream cheese roll and sweet potato roll with edamame and a salad… then i was a bad girl and ate a doughnut. arrg. but i feel better about what i ate today than how i normally eat.. it’s a process, not perfection.
Today I slept in because I had a horrible migrane, so I missed breakfast and ate a late lunch which included 2 eggs, a 100 calorie mini bagel with nothing on it, three slices of tomato, and a half full and a half of grapes. I drank a tea latte, a diet soda, and plenty of water. For dinner I plan to eat a steamed vegetable medeley and a boca chicken filet with ketchup. I may drink some coffee later and I will definitely drink plenty of water.
I feel good because I went grocery shopping today for my new healthy eating style.
really i would like to lose 30 pounds, but 15 seems more obtainable in the near future. i once lost 40 pounds on weight watcher’s, i just haven’t had the determination to do it again.
today i ate a multi-grain bagel and drank coffee for breakfast, had an avocado and cucumber (sushi) roll for lunch, salad with homemade french dressing and spaghetti with plain sauce for dinner. no snacks! =)
Most of the time, I am very good about watching my weight. I am anemic, so I have to eat foods that contain a good amount of iron. I exercise regularly, and it helps that my high school is on an all uphill college campus. But the one thing that makes losing weight even more challenging is the holidays, and thus, the holiday treats.

back to ground zero after a tough fall. Have gone to the gym the last 4 days, and been eating relatively well. I am modifying this goal to the more realistic 15 pounds.
shlbylng is a rush of blood to the head.
i’m setting my goals low; five pounds in the next month.
i can do that.
