I’ve played in orchestra and jazz ensemble situations with schools, but never in a actual band, like a rock band. Someday I hope to do this.

I am a drummer and play in quite a few bands and have played for about 8 years, and being on stage is the best, especially when everyone is right in the pocket. Kicks ass. Drums are such an energetic and physical instrument that when you get up there you’re just so hyper and ready to go, then you feed off the energy of your band mates and the audience. It is quite addictive though, I will warn you of that, but I can think of worse things to be addicted to :) One thing, don’t forget to breath, and my advice is do it sober and clean. Music is such a powerful drug you don’t need anything else, keep it pure….
