Read all of my books. Curb my book buying addiction.

I’ve not bought a single book since posting this goal. And I’ve decided to combine this goal with my other one of reading 50 books in 2007. I’m going to try to read at least 50 books each year from now on.

I wonder if reading my own book counts toward this goal.

I haven’t bought a book since posting this goal. Yay! Haven’t finished a book since posting this goal, either. Nay!

One by one I take them off the shelf.
I feel their weight and the possibilities inside.
The secrets they hold sends tingles through me.
They each flow through me and leave gentle footprints.

Since posting this goal, have set foot into at least 3 bookstores[Gack!], but have not bought any books[Yay!].

I discovered last night that I recently bought a book that I already own. GACK! And not only that, I was 3/4 of the way through reading this book before I even started to have a tingle that maybe I’ve read this before. This has to stop here. Right here.

I don’t have the disipline to read all my books before purchasing more, that’s why my goal says, “Curb my book buying addiction.”, not “Forgo book buying.” Books are my only true weakness; I have the disipline to do almost anything else, but my brain sees books and turns into cottoncandy. So I’m going to gently steer myself toward my overflowing bookshelf before setting foot in a bookstore.
