paint a mural on a wall

I’m trying to decide between painting on a wall in my room or my brother’s old room…why not both! okay, but now the real problem…what to paint?

I’ve painted a mural on my wall just of a design I really like it, but my next mural I plan to incorporate birds, and music it will go over my bed or in my living room.

And the final tree! Six weeks of work… not too bad. I was getting pretty tired of it though. I have an idea for another one- more detailed… but I don’t really have any walls where I can do it.

It obviously takes a really long time to paint a detailed mural on a wall, so I decided maybe it would be cool to draw something on my closet door, maybe a jungle scene! It will make that area of my room different from the rest of the walls (black and white stripes) Hope to start this in the near(ish) future.

So, it’s completely outlined now! YAY! Only took… forever.
Now I’m on to wrapping up the small details.
I’m including a close-up shot this time, since you can’t really see what I’ve done to the yellow gush.

Oh, and does anyone have a good easy way to take pencil off of a wall? I don’t want to stand there erasing everything…. soap and water?

Getting there… still lots of little details in my brain that aren’t splattered on the wall yet.

A bit more… still not there. Still so much left…

It’s in the process of being painted now… coming along… still have lots to do though!

This is going to become a mural on my bedroom wall. I’m really really thrilled about this coming to life.
It’s been in my brain for a very long time and I finally sketched it out on the wall last night while watching 2 Days In Paris(which you should watch, btw, very amusing)
You can’t realllllly see it in the photo, but it’s a tree. A very graphic, wildly leaved tree. Going to get the paint tomorrow to start it.

That’s what I’ve decided to name this project. So far the mural idea has been abandoned for the past three months. I said last time that I’d have a propoortional sketch all drawn out, etc.

That was clearly a lie.

So, since school is quickly coming to an end, I’ll make sure to actually start working on that sketch. Then I need to figure out the colours palette once I’m done.

Since it’s a technological wasteland where there’s a vibrant industrial-punk-esque city that contrasts with the dying landscape, I’m thinking of using blue-grey and purple-grey hues with bold colours for the city. For the drear in the background I’m thinking of using dark colours: purple, muddy greens, black, greys, brown. The sky will be a slate blue, distant but still relatively the same colour as the sky, and the sun will be a very pale yellow.

Yes, so I’m going to have to go to the art store and grab a few colour samples. Whee~ Wish me luck.
