I had the opportunity to hear monks chanting at the Cincinnati Art Museum a few years ago. They were also working on a sand (or butter) picture. Very Nice! I also touched a Vincent Van Gogh painting while no one was looking…a great and memorable event in my life.

Well it lookls like when I go to Italy next year there is a monastery where they chant, it is not Tibetan monks but I am sure it will be as moving

...Well, I sort of did this. I rather saw the Tibetan monks in line for paninis and crepes at the little stand outside of the 24-hour internet cafe in France. They were very nice blokes. A whole slew of the monks were out and about in the Latin Quarter.

home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in exile, amazing place in foothills of the Himalaya. The monks chanting is incredible, peacful and haunting. Worth the trip to see.

See if the Drepung Gomang Sacred Arts tour is coming your way. The chant master’s name is Sopa (means “patience” in Tibetan). His chanting voice is unreal.

I saw the Drepung monks of Tibet perform in 1996 at the UGA Arts Center. It was deifnitely worth it- a very spiritual and solemn experience. Highly recommended.
