The wireless went down again yesterday after the cable company people were here working on it. Apparently they forgot to reset the upstairs router which made it impossible for the downstairs IP address to be assigned meaning no internet for me. With a poke of the reset button a little while ago, I’m back in business, and quicker than ever.
Now I need to be quicker than ever, because I’m 24 hours behind in a project I required the internet for. Coffee infusion…. GO! 11 months ago

We’re back, even if it’s in a Meatloafy, 2/3 ‘aint bad kind of way.
Someone came out yesterday and worked on the problem for a couple of hours. There’s a new network setup on the main system, so my laptop and the iPad are now reconnected to that and functioning, even if it’s slower than desired.
The truth came out – apparently the provider oversold to the area (greedy so-and-so’s) and there are too many people trying to connect, clogging things up terribly, so they’re going to rehash some technology stuff sometime next month (this is slotted for April 17th, or so they say). The owner is furious, he uses Voip and hasn’t been able to use his phone for a week.
It’s sluggish and sporadic at times, but it’s better than nothing. I’ll keep trying with computer #3 (It’s getting a signal, but won’t connect to the internet). This will do for now. Whew.
Edit: #3 = back online! Yay!14 months ago

The good news is the laptop seems to be solidly connected. The bad news is both the tabletop PC and iPad are still offline. I’m completely flummoxed as to why this might be. 14 months ago

Our wireless connection here has been getting slower and patchier, then last Friday it failed altogether. The provider says it’s something with the new lines for digital cable TV, so nothing I can deal with myself.
I’m back online at the moment, but it seems to be in tiny pockets. They’re sending someone to fix things this Friday, until then I’ll just try to jump into the wee connection portholes when they pass me. It’s brought home how reliant we are on technology. 14 months ago
