its not that difficult. ever since i found out that i can’t get my license until a year from now because of some stupid mix up on my birth certificate i bought a bike and started riding 20 miles [round trip] to the beach on the weekends, or whenever i got the chance… and now i’m so used to it i stopped relying on any external form of transportation. its an amazing feeling of independence. no real money spent to ride the bike [except for the initial investment for it, and tires and tubes now and then. no brakes!] i donno if i want a car now. but that aside, since i started about 6 months ago i’ve developed some seriously firm thighs…. (;

I started riding, but then it got cold and wet for a few days. Then my front brake got bent in so it slows down the front wheel. I really need to get it fixed but I’m also rather broke right now.

i rode my bike everywhere last year, but then winter hit, and since then i can’t seem to get back in the habit. i need to be better and not so lazy.

I say it’s worth doing because it’s very good exercise and good for the environment, plus, many bikes, especially used ones, cost less than one fill-up in an SUV. You also feel more connected to your surroundings, get to hear more sounds and smell more smells. But I found grocery shopping on a bike very difficult. I found getting bulk cat food and gallons of milk home quite tough. Oh, and people try running over you all the time. I didn’t like that. I rode my bike everywhere for two years simply because I had no car. Now I have a car and have mixed feelings about it.

I’m getting itchy to ride again! I miss my bike so much. It’s just so wet out these days, and there’s a good chance that it will snow again in the next two months.

I took my bike in for the winter. I got some good riding in, usually at least three miles a day. Not a lot, but it’s better than nothing and better than taking the train. I need to make sure to get my bike tuned up in the spring, it’s seen a lot of abuse living on the street.

It is blue. It isn’t cool like the bikes my bike courier friends have, but we have no complexes about it. It is my third best friend in France.

This has been really tough lately because it’s been so hot out. I always feel bad when I bike to class and get sweaty; someone has to sit next to smelly, smelly me. I’ve been doing a lot of walking, which is equally good, physically and environmentally. I’d really like to get some more riding in before it gets too cold.

I don’t live too far from school and I’ve biked there before. However, there aren’t any really great bike paths that lead there. I always have to bike on the side of really busy streets. :(
