Now, what is this fortune-cookieish quote supposed to mean to me?
How I did it: I sent out my CV to oodles of places this summer. After my first interview, i felt like i had found the right place, but, on the advice of several people, including my boss-to-be, i interviewed with other places. I'm kinda tired of all the traveling, i must say!
I visited 4 different places throughout the Southeast for interviews, and i had a few other telephone interviews. I made a second visit to the first site earlier this week, & it still feels like a perfect fit!
Looks like we'll be moving to Mobile, AL, next summer!
Lessons & tips: When i asked one of my mentors how many interviews i should try to schedule, she didn't give me a number. Instead, she told me that it's like falling in love: when you find the right one, you'll know.
She was right.
Resources: In a fairly short time, i've developed a great network of friends and mentors in my field, & their advice has been invaluable.

finished up with my “first” interviews. And i’m actually going to be home for a few days before i fly out again for a second visit to one of my favorites. I’m so damn tired of living out of a suitcase, though. I’ll be glad when this whole process . . . and then the major move . . . is all over.
