Volleyball practice has started! 3 months ago

Today was the first day of volleyball practice.
I’m on the JV Team (and should be, unless there are cuts, and I get cut).
We practice 2 hours, Monday through Friday at 9 AM from today (August 24) until September 1. On September 1, the coaches have school (they’re teachers, too. we go back the next day.) so practice is at 3.
From Sept. 2 onwards, it will most likely continue to be at 3.
I already feel healthier and so pumped up! I’ve never been really athletic, but I think volleyball may be something I can do!
I ate pretty healthy today too, so yay!
On the right track here!
I’ll have to find something to do when winter gets here, but, let’s worry about that later!

I was majorly stretching last night. I definitely have some more stomach muscles, you can feel them. Of course, I’ve had those since I was little, so I don’t know if it’s anything new, haha.
I think I may be getting stronger.
I put on a little bit of weight, which sucks.
I’ll be at the beach next week, so I’m trying to really tone up my thighs, because my legs look really bad whenever I wear shorts or a bathing suit. But it’s summer, so what’re ya gonna do?

I just came back from the public pool. I only swam for about a half hour, but at least it’s better than nothing!!
I do random little stretches a lot, at different points in the day, so it makes me feel more flexible and stronger.
I still need to do more though!

To help me keep track of Physical Activity and Food Intake and stuff, I registered on http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/default.htm. It’s pretty cool!
And tomorrow is the dude ranch trip with school!
About 6-7 hours of swimming, horseback riding, boating, etc. I’ll get plenty of exercise then!

Most of the time, I sit inside listening to music or reading or playing on my computer. I’m sick of being lazy, so I’m going to try and become more active this summer.
I’m also playing volleyball in high school, so I’d like to be in shape so I can do well in that.

I want to increase my activity level by bike riding, walking, hiking, kayaking and going to the gym. As I head into my 49th year of life, I want to be physically vital and prepared for the next stage of my life with energy.

Iv been alot more asctive, i go for walks and run and even go to the gym! I have alot more energy now!



Have started program 12 months ago

This will work!!! Have started program through the cardiac rehab unit of our hospital. Basically I walk around indoors on Tuesdays and I exercise on machines etc. on Thursdays. This runs for 6 months and hopefully I will start walking at home as well. We are to aim for 30 mins. 3 – 5 times a week. I am in bad shape. I didn’t even make 3 minutes on my stress test before my pulse was at 166 but slow and steady should do the trick. I am going to invest in a heart-rate monitor wristwatch so I’m not overdoing it. If I get out of breath it freaks me out. I’ve had 2 different types of arrythmias and my only brother (age 41) dropped dead last year from unknown causes but the guess is “a cardiac event”. So now I’m scared but I need to exercise more than ever.

For the record…... I am one lazy bum, who tends to procrastinate important tasks ever now and then. Now i want to be more active both physically and mentally so that i can reach up to my true potential. I will monitor my progress daily . Let’s see if I become successful in my endeavor .
