it is basically based on native Americans and the British, nd i no tht sounds pretty dumb. But it is actually pretty deep Meringo is based off of America nd Ritannia is based off of a very oppresive Great Britain. It centers around The Lizard Tribe one of the 6 great tribes of Meringo. They are disbanded by the Ritannian govt. after they get very powerful however they are given a chance to reform if a member of the tribe of the Ritannian govt.’s choosing can reunite 7 members of the Lizard tribe in 2 months then they can reunite. They end up choosing a “weak link” by the name of Shu Longstride. The first arc is based off of his adventures tryin to find the 7 members and how the Ritannian govt. tries to stop him with the help of some lesser tribes. By the way Shu is a Native (a person with a spirit animal who can absorb it to gain a ‘spirit ability’) and his spirit animal is a bat and his spirit ability is called Target Shell. He has a target tattoo with three rings known as shells. everytime he activates a shell his physical power increases by a certain amount. When he activates the Light Shell (turns yellow and is the outermost shell) his strength is 2x increased, Heavy Shell (turns red and is the middle shell) strength is 10x increased, and finally the Burst Shell (turns blue and is the innermost shell) strength is 20x increased.
All i can say is that,, keep practicing! actually i was bad at drawing,, then i keep practicing,,... SEe! the outcome!

AgentTheDuck is starting by getting her goals up here...
Whenever I write a particularly good story, or I see particularly beautiful manga-styled art drawn by my friends, my heart yearns to be able to draw that way as well. I wouldn’t even want to go anywhere with the ability; just the personal satisfaction of being able to make pages to go with my stories would be FANTASTIC. And I DO like to draw. I just don’t like that ugly pictures are coming out of my hand so far.
The trouble is, it is so hard for me to form habits, especially one such as this where my inner critic kicks in. You see, I am a perfectionist at heart. I can tell myself, “I need to keep practicing in order to get better”, but every time I do something imperfect or think about how poor even my tracing abilities are, I get discouraged. It’s also hard for me to keep motivated…
I know this might not be the right way to go about it, but one thing that does keep me motivated is seeing how good this girl I know is. Her drawings are phenomenal. I hope my style is as beautiful as hers one day. (Also, she’s not a very nice person, which drives me nuts and makes me want to outdo her.)
I’m usually not a competitive person, but I have this urge that I want to be as good as her so I can… just… SHOW HER.
I know that’s not typically a good kind of motivator, but when I think about how much she infuriates me, it kind of does help. And it’s not like I hate her; I don’t. She just drives me nuts sometimes. I think of it more along the lines of a rivalry.
Any advice on other motivators, techniques to excel faster, good books for teaching, any tips really? I know to stay away from Chris Hart books… I’d rather not be able to draw than draw Amerime. Yuck.
Chizukochi is being otaku-ish~
Its just so ridiculously fun, I can’t help it! I draw manga all the time, during class, at home, in the car. When in doubt, draw manga. Plus, its so fun coming up with your own characters and stories. In fact, I’m working on my very own manga right now! I even use a special software just for the speech bubbles and panels. But if there’s one thing I CAN’T STAND, its people who copy. Come up with your on style rather than learning how to draw someone else’s, seriously.
But anyway, here’s one of my favorite drawings.
Oh and don’t give up~ the key: practice practice practice~

I’ve always loved drawing, but… I’ve never really had the technical skill to do it properly.
Yeah, I can kind of draw manga, but its really a hit and miss most of the time.
I can look at something and copy it no problem.
But I want to draw original stuff. Shit i see in my head going down on paper the exact way I planned. That would be awesome.
I should join a class or something, so I get the mechanics right, you know? Anyways, so I guess I’m starting at the halfway point.
