How to read "A New Earth"
How I did it: With a lot going on in my life, and most of it negative, I searched for a book to 're-align' myself spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I finished Tolle's "The Power of Now" a few months back, and wanted to read his follow-up, which is actually even better (although they are both excellent). The jist of the book is that one should live in the present, and first find one's inner purpose before worrying about one's outer purpose. Doing so will create a joyful and sacred Now. The past is dead and the future unpredictable, so why think about them?

I’m finding this book in a way more powerful than The Power of Now.
Perhaps this is because groundwork has been laid before I began reading, by my reading the other book.
Perhaps because it seems to be better suited to guiding me INTO the state where I can feel presence, rather than explaining the whys and wherefores of its existence. To be fair though the other book does do this to some successful degree.
Wholeheartedly recommended to you all.

I am currently reading The Power of Now. Only became aware of Eckart Tolle on Saturday. I was having a speedy browse in the astrology shop on monmouth street before meeting my friend and walked slap bang into ‘A New Earth’ so I knew I should take it with me, only one copy was left! Looking forward to deepening my insight and understanding. It’s not easy going but it’s a joy to read.
I feel like i get more out of books like this if i read for at least 15 minutes a day. otherwise, i slip back into my old way of thinking and i get stuck!
*read 15 minutes every day
*watch oprah’s discussion on each chapter after finishing that chapter

On my vacation to TN. For some reason I have a couple other books that seem to demand my time for now, maybe I’ll read this one over the holiday break in December?!
delilah88220 has a broken heart.
I’ve made a renewed committment to read the book, watch the shows and do the workbook assignments weekly. I’m on chapter 2 now.
JahRose is offically unemployed, I'm anxious, stressed, but overall happy!
I came across the webcast of Oprah and Echart Tolle almost by accident via iTunes. You can click here > Oprah’s Book of the Month Webcast
I found the talks to be amazing, and decided to read the book. You really have to be ready for change in order to get something from this book. Not everyone will, but the ones that have truly say the process has been worth it.
I want to finish this book!

I have started this and plan on taking it on my trip to TN next month. Hopefully will get a lot read on the plane(s) and my lazy Monday. :-)

but I found it to be a bit of a let down. I didn’t think it was unlike other things I’ve read about raising personal awareness levels.

Chapter 1 was a little slow for me and I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to continue but Chapter 2 brought me back. That’s where I am now and so far I’m enjoying it.
