This goal is in honor of my Grandma Rosey.

I don’t look it, but I’m over 1/4 Cherokee, with a little Iroquois, too.
Since I was a little girl I have wanted to go to the place where my Grandma Rosey (great grandmother) was born and attempt to retrace her footsteps on the Trail of Tears, to walk where she and my GGGrandmother walked. They never made it to Oklahoma, though. My GGG’s husband caught up with them and they turned North, to the Dakotas, where they began a new life that eventually led them to Iowa.
I think it would be a fitting tribute to a brave woman who at the time of the removal was just a little girl.
