this quarter I have TWO installation projects. God help us all. (Yes, I am always this melodramatic about big projects. I seriously always expect them to flop, up to the last moment, when it USUALLY turns out OK. I can’t help myself.)

I thrived! I was shocked to find that:
a) all of the other group installations were SOOOOOOOOO terrible.
b) my group’s installation project actually turned out to be THE BOMB. I could look at it for HOURS, seriously. (and I’m normally someone who hates anything I make) I’m glad I ended out going outside of my comfort zone and creating an animation – it totally pulled the thing together visually.
it was clear from the comments in the critique that everyone thought it was the best video installation by far. (OK, I will stop bragging now – but I’m just so relieved/happy!) =) yay!
This group project is going to be a terrible flop. Terrible. We all have completely different visions. I think installation is usually a shoddy form of art anyway, so my lack of enthusiasm didn’t help.
The professor persuaded a major Seattle gallery curator/owner to view the class show, so my humiliation will only be intensified.
