Pretty much over legal studies…and changing to interactive media woot

The class is always greener on the other side… or whatever. Sometimes you just can’t appreciate your boring class until you transfer to Professor Grumpypants’ class. (Really, I should have known what I was getting into.)
Sooooo… I transferred back to my old class today, undoing this goal. (But not REALLY, I guess, because I didn’t say I had to STAY in the new class…)
he is very opinionated, and basically changed my entire contract. I’m not as excited about it now, but anything is worth getting out of this video installation class. I had to go back to him several times with different versions of the contract until he OKed it. Everything really interesting has been whittled out of the contract, so it isn’t worth going over here; suffice it to say that there will be TONS of painting involved (like 5 paintings a week), in addition to weekly research and papers on various artworks and artists, and of course… the always tiring ‘weekly critique group’ – you would be surprised how long people can go on about other people’s art. (It sounds like a lot, that way, but consider that I’m earning 16 credits for it – yes, we start at 16 credits a class here, and because there are no grades, sub-standard work will result in a loss of credit points – yikes!)
I have an appointment tomorrow with a professor to go over the terms of an independent contract. (One of the best things about this college. The other great thing is that you only have one class at a time… one REALLY in depth class.) I will probably tell how it turned out… what my class will be like, etc, tomorrow. I had fun choosing the books for the class and setting the terms – I hope he doesn’t want to change much. I can tell this professor will be tough – he isn’t one for sugar coating the truth. Very blunt, rather mean, considerable ego – I like it. (Although his attitude did not leave me entirely unscathed after the preliminary interview.)
